This project entailed a challenging theatre department upgrade and ambulatory day-case unit fit-out at Nuffield Health’s Chester Hospital. This project was completed within 18 months and split into 3 phases to keep disruption to a minimum. The innovative design of phase 1, included two new fully digital integrated theatre suites on stilts at first floor level, with plant on the new floor above. Phase 2 converted the relocated theatre department into an ambulatory day-case unit, and phase 3 provided a new administration space for hospital staff.
