Supported hVIVO, a scientific and technical services group specialising in human challenge trials, with their new 40,000ft² multi-use space in the heart of Canary Wharf.

The works for this project involved alterations and fit-out of floor level 24 for office space, and floor level 25 to provide laboratory accommodation for the client in this multi-use facility. The State-of-the-art amenities include quarantine rooms, laboratories (including a CL3 Laboratory), outpatient facilities, and corporate offices all under one roof. The site initially has 50 quarantine beds, with plans to expand to 70, which is significantly more than it’s Whitechapel and Queen Mary facilities.

There were also new M&E installation works to accommodate the client’s aspirations and to obtain HSE approval, including carefully engineered air pressure cascade and HEPA filtration.  Other features include a nurse call system, pneumatic tube transfer hatches, autoclaves, lab gases, Class I and Class III microbiological safety cabinets, and an Actini sink.
