Starting the year on a sustainable note, we’re pleased to announce that we continue to be a Carbon Neutral Organisation, as certified by Carbon Footprint Ltd. This year, we are supporting Carbon Footprint’s Global Portfolio; Verified Carbon Standard projects which predominately work towards decarbonising electricity grids around the world.
One project included in the Global Portfolio is the Chaiyaphum Wind Farm Power Project, which primarily generates electricity using renewable wind energy. The project activity reduces an estimated 117,849 tCO2e emissions per year of greenhouse gases.
The benefits of supporting this project extend further than decarbonisation. The project contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
+SDG 7 Affordable & Clean Energy: Helps generate 245,484 MWh of renewable energy, as we strive to ensure access to more affordable, reliable and sustainable energy for all.
+SDG 8 Decent Work & Economic Growth: Provides economic growth for the local community by creating various short-term and long-term employment opportunities. Training sessions to educate and build capacity have also been conducted.
+SDG 13 Climate Action: By contributing to the imperative steps towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the project actively supports our efforts to safeguard our planet for future generations.
Alongside supporting the Global Portfolio, we have planted 70 trees in local communities for the fourth year in a row.
Our carbon neutrality is accompanied by the revalidation of our ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System certification for 2024, which provides guidance on reducing impact on the environment and further supports our commitment to becoming a more sustainable business.
