We’re passionate about inspiring and enabling younger generations to achieve their full potential in the construction and built environment. For the last two years we have supported Construction Youth Trust on their career talks. This month, Associate, Christopher Nelson, together with Assistant Cost Consultants, Davina Patel and Daniel Parker, attended Wilmington Academy to talk to key stage 3-5 students on the role of a Quantity Surveyor and what a normal day looks like at MESH.
“We believe it’s important to support career talks, especially in schools, when students are starting to question and think about what their careers could be like in the future. I have taken part in two talks and both times it has been great to see enthusiastic minds wanting to know more about what we do. Not only is it great to build upon the awareness of construction roles in the built environment, but it’s also a great opportunity for the wider team to be part of the talks too.”

“I enjoyed presenting to the students at Wilmington Academy. It allowed me to come out of my comfort zone and provide insight and advice on a career as a Quantity Surveyor. It’s great to see that Construction Youth Trust encourages younger people to pursue jobs in the construction industry and highlights that there are alternative paths to university to achieve your desired career.”
