Senior Marketing & Bid Executive Jack Cartwright joined Assura Plc’s Development Team for a volunteer day at The Bromley by Bow Centre.
We assisted with the garden, which relies heavily on volunteers, some of whom have been dedicated to the centre since 1984. Our primary task for the day was helping to construct a greenhouse. This was an important project because the centre offers gardening sessions for people with disabilities, usually conducted on a rooftop garden. The greenhouse will enable these sessions to be more accessible for people in wheelchairs.
It was great to support the centre, an exemplary example of an integrated health and community hub. Their extensive offering of over 40 services and activities is instrumental in transforming people’s lives.
